TEAM HISTORY
2008/09 Season (02/07/09)

Andrew, Nathaniel, Jake, Lewis, Dylan & Reuben played up an age group in the Under 10s. The team improved a lot over the course of the season with particularly noteworthy performances against Kirkstall, Amaranth, Hunslet and Tingley Tigers. The year 4s' contribution to the team was recognised at the presentation evening with 3 of the 5 main awards going to year 4 players:

Top Goalscorer - Andrew Tegerdine
Players' Player - Jacob Hallard
Manager's Player - Nathaniel Hughes

At the end of the league season the year 4s split from the year 5s (who were moving up to 11-a-side football) to form the Under 9 Boys team. The team had a very successful closed season with wins in friendlies, a fifth-place finish at the Yorkshire Amateurs gala and a great day out at Tingley Athletic gala, where they were unlucky to miss out on the final by a single goal.

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
